Can You Stream It With a Subscription?
Project Hail Mary made its subscription-streaming debut June 18, 2026 exclusively on MGM+, according to BroadwayWorld. MGM+ is Amazon's standalone premium service, also sold as a Prime Video add-on channel.
Amazon MGM Studios then announced worldwide Prime Video streaming starting July 3, 2026, included at no extra cost for Prime subscribers, as described in the Amazon MGM Studios announcement. As of late September 2026, JustWatch listed Prime Video as the subscription home.
Where Can You Rent or Buy It Digitally?
The film became available for Premium Video-on-Demand May 12, 2026, according to the Tom's Guide report. Storefronts included Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home.
Digital pricing on Amazon was $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy, according to Decider. Prices varied slightly by storefront.
- Rent in HD or 4K from Amazon, Apple TV Store or Fandango at Home
- Buy digitally if you want repeat access without a subscription
- Compare storefronts before checkout because prices and formats differ
Is There a Legal Free Option?
There is no separate free-with-ads option, according to JustWatch data checked Sept. 29, 2026.
The film also did not launch on Netflix or Hulu. Legal "free" viewing means included-with-paid-Prime or a limited promotional MGM+ offer, according to Decider. MGM+ had recently discontinued its seven-day free trial, so do not count on a trial.
What About Discs and Regional Limits?
Viewers can buy the film on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, released Aug. 11, 2026 via Alliance Home Entertainment, according to the Media Play News report.
Discs suit collectors and viewers with slow or metered internet. Streaming catalogs vary by country. Check Prime Video or MGM+ availability in your country before renting elsewhere.
