Dozens of licensed movies leave US Netflix on Oct. 1, 2026, including Apollo 13, Clueless, Fargo, Ghostbusters and Gone Girl. Watch Apollo 13, Clueless, the Hunger Games films, the Ride Along pair and IF first if they are on your list.
A licensed movie is one Netflix rents for a set window rather than owns. According to Vital Thrills, the Oct. 1 group affects US subscribers and also includes A Dog's Purpose and A League of Their Own in the full October leaving list.

The Oct. 1 wave
Most removals hit at the start of the month. That makes Sept. 30 the practical deadline for Oct. 1 titles. Two 1995 films lead the last-watch order.
Parade reports that Apollo 13, the Tom Hanks and Ron Howard drama with a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score, leaves Oct. 1, so Sept. 30 is its last full viewing day in the Apollo 13 removal report. Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd, also leaves Oct. 1 after its current licensed window ends.
Franchises leaving together
All five Hunger Games movies are set to leave Netflix during October 2026. That removes the complete franchise collection in one month, so start from the first film if you want the full story. Two action-comedy pairs also depart Oct.
1. Ride Along from 2014 and Ride Along 2 from 2016, the Ice Cube and Kevin Hart comedies grossing about $278M combined, leave together. The Hitman's Bodyguard from 2017 and The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard from 2021, starring Ryan Reynolds and Salma Hayek, also depart that day.
What deserves a final night?
Pick Apollo 13 for prestige drama, Clueless for a 1990s comedy, and one franchise for a weekend. The pairs work well as double features because both films leave on the same date.
Add IF from 2024 to a family-movie night. The Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski family comedy grossed about $190M and offers a lighter option beside the older dramas and R-rated action comedies.
Do these dates apply outside the US?
No. US removal dates do not apply worldwide. What's on Netflix UK notes separate UK and Canada leaving schedules and says lists are region-specific and subject to change in the UK October leaving schedule.
Removals also continue past Oct. 1 in the US. IF leaves later in the month on Oct. 9, so check your local leaving row rather than assuming everything exits on the first.
