Is it on subscription streaming?
Past Lives made its U.S. subscription-streaming debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on February 2, 2024, after its theatrical run. That debut followed rental and purchase availability, so timing matters if you are waiting for it to return to a subscription you already pay for.
Subscription placement rotates by region and date. Reports tracked it across Prime Video, Paramount+ channels, fuboTV and Netflix in different markets and periods. Check your country and current month before assuming it is included.
Where can you rent it?
In the U.S. you can rent Past Lives digitally starting at about $3.99 on Apple TV Store, Amazon Video, YouTube, Google Play, Spectrum On Demand and Plex, according to Moviefone's where-to-watch listing.
Rental gives temporary access, usually 30 days to start and 48 hours to finish once you press play. Pick the store you already use for playback and receipts. Apple TV, Amazon, YouTube and Google Play work across most phones, smart TVs and browsers.
Where can you buy it?
You can buy Past Lives digitally for about $4.99-$19.99 on Apple TV, Amazon, Vudu, YouTube and Google Play. Higher-priced listings generally reflect 4K, Dolby options or store-specific editions.
A physical edition is also useful for collectors. Blu-ray and DVD versions were issued alongside digital release. Buy only if you expect repeat viewings, since rental costs less for one night.
Can you watch it free legally?
Yes, through library services Kanopy and Hoopla with a participating public-library card and PIN, as noted in coverage of how to watch the film free online. These services typically lend the film as a multi-day loan, not an unlimited subscription.
Access depends on your local library. If your library supports Kanopy or Hoopla, sign in with your card, search "Past Lives," and borrow it when available.
What should you check before paying?
No single home is permanent. Subscription rights move, rental prices vary by quality, and library catalogs change.
- Confirm the current U.S. offer on a live aggregator such as Reelgood.
- Compare HD and 4K prices before renting or buying.
- Confirm Kanopy or Hoopla support with your own library branch.
- Search the exact 2023 title to avoid similarly named programs.
