Which subscriptions carry it?
The main US subscription home is Max. According to Reelgood, current US access includes Max and HBO Max directly on its Reelgood US movie page. The same Max access is also available through add-on channels.
Those options include Prime Video, Hulu, Roku, and Apple TV Channels, according to JustWatch US. Hulu has also carried the film as a subscription title. ComingSoon.net reported in March 2024 that viewers could watch it through Hulu.com/welcome signup steps.
Where can you rent it?
Digital rental starts from about $3.99 in the US. According to Moviefone, rental outlets include Apple TV Store, Amazon Video, YouTube, and Google Play Movies on its Moviefone where-to-watch page.
Rental gives short-term access, usually 30 days to start and 24 to 48 hours to finish. Check the expiration shown at checkout before you pay.
- Check Apple TV Store for HD rental terms
- Compare Amazon Video, YouTube, and Google Play Movies for price and playback limits
- Choose the store already linked to your TV or phone
Where can you buy it?
Digital purchase starts from about $4.99. Outlets include Apple TV Store, Amazon Video, YouTube, and Google Play Movies, according to JustWatch US. Physical copies remain another route.
The film is available on DVD and Blu-ray from retailers for collectors and for viewers with slow internet. Buying suits repeat viewing and offline playback. Compare HD, 4K, and extras because listings can differ by store.
Is there a free or Disney+ option?
There is no legal free with-ads streaming option in the US right now. Aggregators list only subscription streaming plus rent or buy, and other regions also report no free option. Life of Pi is not on Disney+ in the United States despite Disney ownership of the 20th Century title.
GB Times notes that JustWatch UK and Ireland lists it streaming on Disney+ there, so availability varies by country in its Disney+ availability explainer. Licensing rotates between services. Confirm current status on JustWatch or Reelgood before paying.
