How do Hathaway and Johnson's roles work?
Hathaway plays the titular Verity Crawford. Fandango describes Verity as unable to finish her books after an accident. That absence drives the plot and leaves her career, household, and marriage exposed.
Johnson plays Lowen Ashleigh. ComingSoon.net describes Lowen as a struggling writer brought to the Crawford estate to ghostwrite the unfinished novels. Her outsider position puts her close to private drafts, family tension, and Jeremy Crawford.
Who does Josh Hartnett play?
Hartnett co-leads as Jeremy Crawford, Verity's husband. According to QNC News' October 2 report, Jeremy hires Lowen and develops a tense closeness with her.
That relationship gives the thriller its romantic and suspense pressure. Lowen must work for Jeremy while living near Verity. Trust, attraction, and loyalty pull against one another.
What kind of movie is Verity?
ComingSoon.net identifies Verity as an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's 2018 novel. It names Michael Showalter as director and Nick Antosca as screenplay writer. The source material shapes its focus on manuscripts, marriage, and hidden motives.
The leads also hold behind-camera stakes. Enstarz credits Hathaway as a producer and Johnson as executive producer. Those roles give both actors creative investment beyond their performances.
