What happens in the story?
Red protects Bird Island and trades pranks with Pig Island. A new threat appears from Eagle Island, where Zeta plans to freeze both neighbors with ice weapons. Birds and pigs call a truce to face the shared danger.
Red joins Chuck, Bomb, Silver, Leonard and Mighty Eagle on an uneasy team. They sneak toward Zeta's base, clash over leadership, and rely on gadgets and slapstick plans. The plot stays simple: stop the freeze device, save the islands, learn to share credit.
Who voices the main leads?
Red is Jason Sudeikis, Chuck is Josh Gad, and Bomb is Danny McBride. Silver is Rachel Bloom, Leonard is Bill Hader, and Zeta is Leslie Jones. Mighty Eagle is Peter Dinklage, with Sterling K.
Brown and Awkwafina in key island roles. The large cast suits an ensemble comedy, with quick banter rather than one star turn. Young viewers can track the birds by look and mood: angry Red, speedy Chuck, explosive Bomb.
How long is it and what is the tone?
The film runs about an hour and a half, a standard length for a family matinee. Pacing is quick, with short jokes, chases and gadget scenes. Most families can finish it in one sitting without a slow middle.
Tone is light slapstick with mild action and no harsh scares. Expect pratfalls, freeze guns, costume gags and pop songs. Humor aims at kids first, with enough team-friction jokes for adults.
How did critics and families respond?
Response was warmer than for the first Angry Birds film. Many critics pointed to faster pacing, brighter animation and a stronger ensemble. Families often cite Silver and Zeta as highlights for energy and comic drive.
Limits remain familiar for game adaptations. The story is thin, the jokes are broad, and character growth is simple. Viewers who want sharp satire may find it loud, while young comedy fans get steady gags.
