Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) Movie Runtime: Length, End Credits, and Available Versions

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), the animated Miles Morales sequel, runs 140 minutes (2 hours 20 minutes). It has no mid- or post-credits scene, and its available versions include digital storefronts, DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD, a two-film pack, and Netflix streaming. That runtime made it the longest American animated feature at its June 2023 release.

Sony released it theatrically in the U.S. on June 2, 2023, after a May 30 premiere, directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson.

How long is the movie?

The full runtime is 140 minutes, or 2 hours 20 minutes. IMDb lists that length in the technical specs, and Gamereactor noted it before release. It is noticeably longer than Into the Spider-Verse at 1 hour 56 minutes.

The extra 24 minutes means more plot, more Spider variants, and a longer sit for younger viewers. Plan for a full evening slot rather than a quick matinee. Families with small children may want a bathroom break before it starts.

Should you stay through the credits?

No extra footage waits after the story ends. Digital Trends reports in its post-credits breakdown that the film contains no mid- or post-credits scene. The story closes with a "to be continued" panel teasing Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Credits then roll uninterrupted, breaking the usual Marvel habit of hiding another scene. Producers later confirmed a deleted post-credits idea featuring villain The Spot. It was cut because the cliffhanger ending was hard to beat, so waiting in your seat earns no bonus clip.

Is it suitable for younger children?

The film is rated PG for frenetic sequences of animated action violence, some language and thematic elements. That rating directly affects guidance decisions for children. Frenetic here means fast, loud, and near-constant movement.

Sensitive viewers may feel overstimulated during long chase and battle stretches. Parents may prefer a home viewing for very young children. The pause button and lower volume can make the 140 minutes easier to manage.

Which disc or digital version should you get?

The home version arrived on digital storefronts including Prime Video and iTunes on Aug. 8, 2023. CBR covered the rollout in the 4K UHD and Blu-ray release announcement, with 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD following on Sept.

5, 2023 with over 90 minutes of extras. Your physical choices are straightforward: Pick digital if you want fast access and portable viewing. Pick 4K UHD if you want the sharpest animation and the full extras package.

  • DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD plus Digital for standalone purchase
  • two-film Blu-ray and digital double pack with Into the Spider-Verse
  • retailer-exclusive multi-feature UHD sets for collectors

Where can you stream it?

Under Sony's Pay-1 deal, the first-window streaming version debuted on Netflix in the U.S. on Oct. 31, 2023. That date was 151 days after theaters, as The Direct reported in its Disney+ release update.

That window means subscribers need Netflix rather than Disney+ for first-window streaming. A Disney+ search will not find it during that period. If you already rent or own the digital or disc version, you do not need a new subscription. Check Netflix availability before you buy a second copy.
