Where does Rebirth begin?

Earth has become largely hostile to dinosaurs five years after Jurassic World Dominion. According to TheWrap reporting in its plot reveal, survivors cluster in isolated equatorial zones.

One refuge is Ile Saint-Hubert, a former InGen island. It holds both the target giants and failed mutants. That isolation explains why the team must travel there.

What is the Ile Saint-Hubert mission?

ParkerGenix representative Martin Krebs hires covert expert Zora Bennett, Duncan Kincaid and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis.

Cinema Express describes their job as extracting genetic material from land, sea and air giants for a heart-disease drug. The three targets are: The crew collides with the shipwrecked Delgado family. Popverse reports that the island also holds failed InGen mutants led by the six-limbed Distortus rex, or D-Rex.

  • Mosasaurus from the sea
  • Titanosaurus from the land
  • Quetzalcoatlus from the air

Who lives and who dies?

Krebs treats the samples as private corporate property. JoBlo reports that the D-Rex destroys the rescue helicopter and devours him. Duncan then draws the creature away with a flare so the others can reach the boat.

Duncan seems lost when his flare dies over water. MovieWeb reports that he fires a second flare and is recovered alive. He escapes with Zora, Henry, Reuben, Teresa, Xavier, Isabella and juvenile Aquilops Dolores, passing dolphins.

What does the open-source ending mean?

With Krebs dead, control shifts to Zora and Henry. Popverse reports that they reject a ParkerGenix patent monopoly. They agree to make the cardiovascular treatment open-source.

That choice means affordable worldwide access rather than corporate profit. It turns the recovered DNA from a private asset into a public medical resource. The survivors leave together, with the cure decision as their shared act.

Should you stay past the credits?

No mid- or post-credits scene plays. According to the SlashFilm guide, viewers miss nothing by leaving when the credits start. The sequel hook stays in the main story because the D-Rex is deliberately left alive on the island.
