Avengers: Endgame (2019) Movie Runtime: Length, End Credits, and Available Versions

Avengers: Endgame (2019), the Marvel Studios team-up finale, runs 181 minutes (3 hours 1 minute). The original cut includes no story scene during or after the credits, and viewers can choose the theatrical cut, a reissue with extras, home disc and Digital formats, or a Disney+ IMAX Enhanced presentation. That length shaped its release as the longest Marvel Studios film to that point. It also changes planning for theater trips, credits waits, and home viewing.

How long is the movie?

25thFrame, reporting the BBFC 12A classification, lists the official runtime as 181 minutes in the BBFC classification report. With trailers, a theater visit runs well past three hours.

Some ticket sellers show 182 minutes because they round the short-seconds runtime upward. Moviefone, reporting a Fandango listing, advises planning for at least 3h 5m to 3h 15m with previews and credits. The film was about 32 minutes longer than Avengers: Infinity War at 149 minutes.

Do you need to stay for the credits?

No story continues in the middle or after the credits in the original 2019 cut. Polygon describes that choice as a break from the prior MCU pattern of stingers in Polygon's after-credits breakdown.

Listeners who remain hear only hammer-on-metal audio. Co-director Joe Russo connected that sound to Tony Stark building his Iron Man armor, making it a farewell tribute rather than a plot teaser.

What changed in the reissue?

A June 28, 2019 theatrical reissue added a deleted scene, a tribute featurette, and other extras. Polygon reports that the new material did not extend the main story in Polygon's re-release report.

The package targeted committed fans and collectors. It offered more context around the finished film while leaving the central plot and ending intact.

Which home version should you pick?

Marvel set Digital HD for July 30, 2019, followed by 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 13, 2019, according to Marvel's home-release announcement. Those editions include deleted scenes, a gag reel, and a Digital-exclusive Steve-and-Peggy featurette.

Disney+ also carries an IMAX Enhanced version in expanded 1.90:1 aspect ratio for the whole film. Marvel links that taller framing to IMAX-camera photography, compared with 2.39:1 standard theatrical framing.

  • Choose Digital or disc for deleted scenes, gag reel, and behind-the-scenes features.
  • Choose Disney+ IMAX Enhanced for the taller full-film image.
  • Choose the original theatrical cut for the shortest viewing time.
