What Is the Story?
Disney UK Press describes Furious as a Hulu Original from creator and executive producer Elizabeth Meriwether in its trailer and key-art announcement. It follows FBI agent Alice Black, played by Emmy Rossum, as she hunts a mysterious, calculating woman killer. W Magazine presents both hunter and hunted as survivors.
Alice carries domestic-abuse trauma, while Catherine, played by Lola Petticrew, survived trafficking and methodically kills men who abused her. Fresh Fiction reports Meriwether developed the show with Rossum as star and executive producer. It draws inspiration from the 1987 thriller Black Widow written by Ron Bass, which roots the chase in obsessive pursuit rather than case-of-the-week procedure.
Who Leads the Cast?
Fresh Fiction lists Emmy Rossum as Alice Black and Lola Petticrew as Catherine. The ensemble also includes Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Scoot McNairy, Jake Lacy, Rob Yang, Steve Way and Danny McCarthy.
Rossum also serves as executive producer alongside Meriwether. That credit gives her a creative stake beyond the lead performance.
When Did Episodes Arrive?
Reelgood reports Season 1 holds eight episodes. It premiered July 27, 2026 with three episodes, then added new episodes weekly on Mondays through the Aug.
31, 2026 finale. Fiction Horizon confirms the finale closed the complete eight-episode run. The pattern confirms a weekly rollout rather than a full-season drop.
How Did Critics Respond?

Disney UK Press announced a Season 2 renewal on Aug. 28, 2026, ahead of the finale in its renewal announcement. Season 1 therefore plays as an opening chapter rather than a closed limited series.
