Our Team
Steve Moreno — Founder & Editor
Steve started Find This Movie in 2024 after spending years as one of the most active contributors on Reddit’s r/tipofmytongue, where he helped thousands of users identify forgotten movies from vague scene descriptions and half-remembered plot details.
With over 15 years of experience in film research and cataloging, Steve has personally helped identify more than 3,000 movies. His approach combines deep knowledge of film history with systematic search techniques using databases like IMDb, TMDb, and Letterboxd. He specializes in tracking down obscure titles — the kind of movies that don’t show up on the first page of Google results.
Steve writes most of the content on Find This Movie, covering movie identification strategies, streaming trends, film technology, and in-depth comparisons of movies across genres. He also built the AI Scene Finder tool, which uses the same identification methodology he developed over years of manual movie searching, now powered by artificial intelligence.
Areas of expertise: Film identification, movie databases and search techniques, streaming analytics, CGI and film technology, classic and contemporary cinema across all genres.
