He left a trail of blood behind him as he moved. His mind was filled with pain and confusion and he could not understand how a Padawan had defeated him. He was Darth Maul a powerful Sith warrior trained for years to be the perfect weapon. How could he have lost to someone so young and inexperienced
Maul spent a long time in that dark place. He was alone and his body was slowly healing but not in the way a normal person would heal. The dark side kept him alive but it also twisted his mind. He became obsessed with revenge and with the idea of finding his master Darth Sidious. He waited and waited but no one came to help him. He was forgotten and abandoned. The pain and the loneliness made him go a little crazy. His thoughts became dark and his mind began to break apart. But through it all one thing stayed clear in his mind Kenobi had to pay for what he had done.
Eventually Maul managed to escape from the waste disposal area. He found his way out of the palace and into the city of Theed. But he could not stay there. He was too weak and too injured. Then one day help came. Mauls long lost brother Savage Opress arrived on Lotho Minor. Savage was also from Dathomir and he had been sent by their mother to find Maul. When Savage found Maul he was shocked by what he saw. Maul was a broken creature living in the dark. But Savage did not leave him behind. He took Maul away from Lotho Minor and brought him back to Dathomir.
On Dathomir the Nightsisters used their magic to help Maul. They gave him cybernetic legs and other enhancements that allowed him to move again. These cybernetic legs were not perfect but they gave Maul the ability to walk and to fight once more. The Nightsisters also helped to heal his mind as much as they could. But Maul was never the same after his time on Lotho Minor. He was still filled with hatred and his mind was still a little broken. But he was alive and he was ready to get revenge.
With his new body Maul returned to the galaxy. He became a powerful crime lord and built an empire of his own. He gathered allies and built a network of power that stretched across many worlds. He was no longer just a Sith warrior. He was a leader and a ruler. But through it all he never forgot about Kenobi. The desire for revenge was always with him.
